Ballet
- Students will not learn a dance for this class
- Mandatory for all competition teams
- Technique focused class
- Hair: Bun
- Dancewear: Black leotard, tights and shorts or skirt
- Shoes: Ballet Slippers
Technique
- Mandatory for the Junior/Senior competition team, but open to others as well
- Dancers will work on flexibility, conditioning, and phrase work to strengthen their technique across all styles of dance
- Hair: Ponytail, Bun or Braid
- Dancewear: Black leotard or tight fitting tank top, tights, black shorts, skirts or leggings
- Shoes: Turning Shoes
Tap
- Students will learn a routine that reflects traditional tap technique and tap choreography.
- Hair: Ponytail, Bun or Braid
- Dancewear: Black leotard or tight fitting tank top, tights, black shorts, skirts or
- Shoes: Black lace up tap shoes
- Dancers MUST have their black tap shoes within the first week of class in order to participate
Jazz
- Students will learn a routine that consists of mainly jazz technique and choreography. There is a strong emphasis upon musicality, rhythms, and performance.
- Hair: Ponytail, Bun or Braid
- Dancewear: Black leotard or tight fitting tank top, tights, black shorts, skirts or leggings
- Shoes: Gore boot or Turning Shoes- teacher's preference
Lyrical
- Students will learn a routine that portrays the lyrics through performance and choreography. Ballet technique will be used throughout the routine.
- Hair: Ponytail, Bun or Braid
- Dancewear: Black leotard or tight fitting tank top, tights, black shorts, skirts or leggings
- Shoes: Turning Shoes
Contemporary
- Students will learn a routine that contains influences from various styles of dance including jazz, lyrical and modern.
- Hair: Ponytail, Bun or Braid
- Dancewear: Black leotard or tight fitting tank top, tights, black shorts, skirts or leggings
- Shoes: Turning Shoes
